The Advanced Enterprise Information Management Systems
AeIMS Research Group, of UWS conducted a workshop on eTransformation for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the Western Sydney IT Forum.
The workshop offered business people and those interested in the topic an opportunity to discuss, share and understand how businesses can transform into an eBusiness environment. It covered a range of aspects from starting on the road towards on-line business through to fully transforming a company to an effective virtual organisation.
About 30 people attended the workshop. After the workshop participants from various business backgrounds talked to the researchers wanting to find out more on how they can take initial steps towards eTransformation.
Throughout the day the
AeIMS booth was manned by both staff and researchers. Individuals from various backgrounds but particularly small business owners came to talk to the
AeIMS research team and to see Component Based e Application Development Shell (CBEADS) demonstrations, a cost effective solution which when installed provides a framework to add various business application software.
The workshop was a success as it attracted a number of individuals from the region and has allowed them to see what IT can do and how it can help them grow their business.
